Week 7 of Smart Blogging Skills is all about Why You Have To Start A Mailing List For Your Blog

I'm just going to speak plainly and say that you will not make the kind of money that you really want to make unless you have a list of people that you can email.  You. Will. Not.

The first thing you should do after getting your website up is create a list.  Its THAT important.  The longer you wait to do this the more momentum you lose

Finally – this is a lesson that I don't need to do any work on.  My list is important to me and I treat it like the valuable asset it is.  Of course, there is always room for improvement but for the purposes of this lesson, I'm doing well.

HINT: Treat your list the same whether there are 2 people or 2,000 people on your list.  Keep in touch with the people on your list at least once a week, more if possible. They signed up because they want to hear from you.  If they want to stop listening to what you have to say then they'll unsubscribe and that's ok.

There's a bonus pdf for this lesson that explains exactly what SEO & Keyword research is and how to use it.

Creating the good habits that Kelly discusses this week now will only help serve your business for the better as you grow.

Like all of the lessons, there is a pdf “summary” and short audio where Kelly give you practical information that breaks this week's tasks down into bite sized pieces and shares what you need to do and why you need to do it.

This Lesson Will Teach You:

  • Why it's imperative you set up a list.
  • How to get people to sign up for your mailing list.
  • How to promote your list so people will sign up.
  • I was reminded to create posts talking about the list & what you're offering.
