I found a new blog that's going into my RSS reader this morning. The Blog is BecomeaBlogger.com and is written by Leslie Samuel. Leslie is my kind of guy, smart, funny and he knows his stuff. He's also a retired Anatomy Professor. He has a keep sense of observation and his teaching experience shows in his posts.
The post I'd like to share with you today is about the results of a recent social media fast he did. It was an interesting and eye-opening read. It has me looking at social media with different eyes and I'm actually contemplating going on a fast myself.
Here are some of the things Leslie learned about himself during his week long social media fast.
1. Facebook was my default
2. Everything was a Social Media moment
3. My brain is a very noisy place to live
4. I have the “It’s not you, it’s me” disease
5. Technology can be very helpful, because I’m a weak punk!
6. Despite my issues, Social Media is very useful for me
Click through to the post to read more about what he really things about social media, what he learned during the fast and where he's going from there.
How about you? Do you feel you have a healthy relationship with social media? Would you consider giving it all up for a week and see how it affects you?
