Small and funny pink piglet in pen

I don't care what you do online, you're selling something. Maybe it's a product, maybe it's an affiliate offer, or maybe you're just trying to grow your audience, build your list or get more likes to your Facebook page. You wouldn't be blogging if you didn't want something out of it. Whatever that outcome is, for it to happen, you have to make a convincing argument and provide your audience with a clear path to whatever action you want them to take.

How that's easier said then done and if you've been following anyone in the online marketing arena for any length of time, you know that the only way to improve your sales and optin pages is to test them. But what do you test for? There are endless possibilities.

Michel Fortin from MichelFortin.com suggests you start with your biggest bottle necks.

In my experience, I’ve found that the best and most efficient element to test is to actually first remove the things that are stopping people from ordering.

Sales copy is a greased slide that should take the reader seamlessly and painlessly through your copy, from the moment they read the first few words to the completion of their order.

He then goes on to explain in great detail what the biggest bottlenecks are and what you can do to improve them. It's an interesting read. Be warned, this is a long post and you're gonna want to go over it several times. Well worth the time though.
