In one of the master mind groups we belong to the question came up recently if it was worth participating in a bundle sale.

For both of us there's not question in our mind that it's worth it.

In fact, we both participate in them quite frequently and have used them to grow our sites, our lists and our income.

3 Reasons Fire Sale Participation

Let me explain.

Reason #1 – Increased Exposure

My favorite part whenever I join a bundle or fire sale (and I'm using the two terms interchangeably throughout this post), is the added explore for my blog, my brand and the product I'm donating to the sale.

Think about it, the bundle is going to be heavily promoted not only by the person putting the sale together, but also by everyone that donated a product to the bundle. On top of that there may be a small army of affiliates recommending the bundle to their circle of influence.

And if you're really lucky, all this buzz will make the sale go viral across social media via good o'l fashioned word of mouth.

In other words, while you won't be making sales for the one product you've donated to the sale, you'll greatly benefit by the added exposure. New readers will discover your blog, sign up for your free list and hopefully buy one or more of your other products.

Reason #2 – Grow The List

Which brings us to the next big benefit of participating in these types of sales (regularly). Whenever possible, we set up our download for the bundle sale so readers have the option to join one of our lists. There are two ways to do this.

(1) Require them to give you their email address before they get access to the product.

(2) Give them the option to sign up for your newsletter or the likes on the download page where they pick up the product.

Both work well and are great ways to grow your lists quickly. Give them both a try and see which one gives you better long-term results. Either way you'll see your list grow exponentially every time you participate in a successful bundle sale.

Reason #3 – Build Relationships

This may quite possibly be the biggest long term benefit of participating in bundle sales. While you're participating in a fire sale, you'll be emailing back and forth with the person running the sale. It's a great first step toward cultivating and ongoing mutually beneficial relationship.

And don't forget about the other participants. Email them during or right after the sale and introduce yourself as a fellow participant. From there you can figure out how you can help each other cross promote content, products and the likes.

As an added bonus, you'll also be making quite a bit of cash by promoting the fire or bundle sale as an affiliate. If you'd like to take it up a notch and make even more, consider running your own fire sale.
